Candlelight Power Flow: This is a dynamic power flow class loosely based around sun salutations and combines equal parts strength and flexibility. It is taught with dim lighting and candles and set to a playlist of carefully selected music that matches the pace and intensity of the class. Breath is emphasized, as is moving with intention and control rather than momentum. This class is challenging for the seasoned practitioner but also accessible for a semi-beginner. Lot of options and modifications are given throughout class.
Soft Flow: A slower, more gentle approach to Power Yoga designed to help you soften into the hard places while focusing on the breath and creating a moving meditation with your body. This is one of the best classes for a beginner who is ready to start to build their practice.
Power 1&2: This class is a powerful flow designed to challenge intermediate to advanced yogis, but also be somewhat accessible to beginners. We will not practice impossible poses, but rather use basic/intermediate poses in a way that allows you to feel challenged and tap into your intrinsic strength. We will build our physical practice around a practice of breathing with intention and attention, and use that to support each posture. This class will contain lots of strengthening, as well as stretching and balancing. Prepare to sweat!
Heated Power Flow: The same as Power 1&2 but in a heated room... about 85 to 90 degrees.
Core: A power yoga class centered around poses that build core strength and stabilize the spine.
Deep Power: Some might say this is a "slow burn"... a strong power class without the need for speed. This class is a slow yet powerful flow set to a mellow playlist of carefully selected music. We will move with intention and control rather than momentum, paying attention to even the smallest micro-adjustments that change the way the pose feels in your body and allow you to go deeper. We will use the breath to find depth in each posture and support each pose with alignment and integrity. This class is approachable for beginners but will also be challenging enough for seasoned practitioners. Modifications will be given and are always welcome!
Restore: This class focuses on poses that promote relaxation, restoration and rejuvenation. Restorative poses help relieve the effects of chronic stress, including weakness and fatigue brought on by our daily fast paced activities. Each restorative sequence is designed to move the spine in all directions by practicing gentle backbends, forward folds, twists and inversions using props allowing for deep relaxation. Several poses are set up using props as support, and then held for 5-7 minutes. This is a good practice for the mind as well.
